My name is Hailey Vlach and I grew up in Appleton, WI with my six siblings and my two puppies Stella and Ozzie. When I was in the 6th grade I wrote my first fantasy novel called “Riverlyn” and published it as a freshman in high school. I graduated from St. Norbert College with a Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. I was blessed to have been apart of the Old Glory Honor Flight’s first publication of the firsthand accounts of WWII veterans in the novel “Operation Legacy” as chief editor and author. I am pursuing my dream of becoming a published author for the third time while currently living in Oshkosh, WI with my wonderful boyfriend Zach Haas.
Like most of the Haastyle Hunting pro and field staff, I discovered my love for the outdoors at an early age. I completed Hunter Safety at age 12 and shot my first buck during my second gun season with my Remington 7 mm .08. From that moment on I was hooked on hunting. Throughout my childhood, my dad took the time to share his knowledge of hunting and the outdoors with me and helped grow the love for hunting and conservation that I have today. I was very blessed to have accompanied my dad on two individual hunting trips to Idaho for elk and mule deer and to Northwest Territories for Dall sheep and caribou. I harvested a trophy mule deer buck in Idaho and a nice caribou in Northwest Territories. My boyfriend Zach recently bought me my first bow, a Mission by Matthews. I am really looking forward to hopefully harvesting my first bow buck this fall and hopefully on film.
